Contemporary designs with traditional joinery, I employ the same techniques that have been tried and tested for centuries.Furniture making has always been a passion , form and function, quality and durability all of these element make for a lasting enjoyable piece that will stand the test of time. I like to take my design inspirations from 2 places, firstly from the past, there is a reason why antiques still have an enduring appeal and secondly from nature as natural looking objects fit into our surroundings easily and quietly. In a world where “instant” is considered the best option I personally believe that quality takes time and you get what you pay for. I stay away from mass produced objects and try to put all my efforts into creating a one off piece of furniture that will outlast the original purchaser. I employ the same techniques of the artisans of yesteryear when constructing furniture most of the detailed work can never be seen but it is reflected in the durability of the object. Chairs, Tables and Cabinets can be made to suit your needs.
Furniture making is one of my first loves. Being able to design and create useful object that also looks good is an ability Im happy to have. I make one off pieces of furniture for either exhibitions or for commissions. I like to incorporate other materials into my designs but I primarily use sustainable Australian timbers.
